The Boy Who Never Was
The Boy Who Never Was, is a semi-autobiographical memoir written by Professor Emeritus, Deacon Larry Torres. It focuses on the thoughts, reflections and doubts of a child growing up in a small town in northern New Mexico, who is struggling to make sense of his life as he moves from childhood to adulthood. He hearkens back to the tales, myths, and faith of his youth trying to explain the world to himself, guided by his older friend, the Big-Foot Yeti, who helps him come of age. The Yeti acts as Virgil to his Dante, as Torres uses several of the sites he visited and studied, such as Scotland, Russia, Spain, Transylvania, Tibet, and Asia Minor. Torres has published myriads of articles in newspapers, magazines, and books.
